Education Project Specialist

Westat is an employee-owned corporation providing research services to agencies of the U.S. Government, as well as businesses, foundations, and state and local governments. Westat's research, technical, and administrative staff of more than 2,000 is located at our headquarters in Rockville, Maryland, near Washington, DC.

Job Summary:
Westat is seeking a project specialist to provide coordination and implementation support for government contracts managed by Westat's Education Studies Practice. This position is currently remote but will be located in our Austin, TX office or our Rockville, MD office.

Job Responsibilities:
• Support the development and implementation of communication strategies, materials, and an editorial calendar for communication across multiple audiences and channels.
• Design and develop content for communications campaigns such as newsletter articles, website features, marketing collateral, and social media posts in collaboration with project teams, colleagues and clients.
• Contribute to the development of resource documents for the projects such as agendas, presentations, handouts, participant surveys, and summary reports.
• Provide research support for project, client, and communications needs.
• Support meeting facilitation needs at client meetings and events.
• Provide technical support for delivering, presenting, recording, editing and publishing training and communications efforts from platforms such as WebEx, Zoom, Skype and other web conferencing services.

Basic Qualifications:
• A bachelor's degree in communication, education, public relation, media studies, marketing, business management or related field is required.
• 3 + years of experience is required.

Advanced experience with Microsoft Office is essential. Familiarity with tools such as the Adobe Creative Suite is a plus. Previous experience with Box, Smartsheet, and/or Zoom is a plus. Candidates should have excellent written and verbal communication skills, strong organizational skills, and a commitment to timely results and attention to detail.
