Summary

Salary Range: $56,160 - $62,400

The Senior CAD/BIM Technician will work as part of a team, drafting under general supervision to produce engineering drawings from sketches, mark-ups, existing as-builts, site maps, photos, field notes, and existing AutoCAD drawings. The Senior CAD/BIM Technician will be responsible for creating construction drawings, as-builts, and graphics while working directly with the design architects and engineers.

This is a Remote / Telework Position

Responsibilities
  • Draft engineering, architecture, and construction drawings using required CAD format, typically ACAD or Revit
  • Create batch sets of construction drawings and individual sheets
  • Utilize standard engineering and/or architectural practices and techniques to adjust and correlate data
  • Revise drawings from markups and/or instructions
  • Complete assigned tasks on all projects in a timely manner to ensure deadlines are met
  • Create and work with BIM models in Revit
  • Create 3D renderings using Revit, AutoCAD, and Sketchup
  • Convert as-built, markups, and field redline to required CAD format
  • Provide design and calculation assistance, adhering to CAD procedures for layering, line types, colors, and standard drawing procedures for sheet layout.
  • Work with detailed sketches, notes, and layouts
  • Coordinate with engineering disciplines and complete conflict resolution/interference workflow checks as necessary
  • Understand UFC/WGDG/Federal codes
  • Create CAD libraries/details and blocks for current and upcoming projects
  • Ensure compliance of drafting and engineering standards
  • Provide O&M manuals and close-out document development or management
  • Coordinate and help develop specifications through prescribed formats
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED
  • 3-5 years of engineering or architecture drafting experience
  • Ability to obtain a secret clearance
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Operating Systems Windows and Microsoft Office Applications (Word and Excel)
  • Background check required

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
  • Bachelor's degree is preferred but not required
  • Ability to create accurate schematic design and construction documents
  • Proven experience with UFC/WGDG/Federal codes
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD and Microsoft Suite software
  • Efficient in AutoCAD and Revit - Building Information Modelling (BIM) - old/new versions
  • Competent in BIM 360 management (file sharing, work-sharing, and model linking)
  • Proficiency in Revit required and Sketchup is preferred
  • Perform tasks and solve problems with a high degree of independence
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in a dynamic environment
  • Strong organizational, time management, attention to detail, and analytical skills
  • Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment
