Project Manager


By providing confidence, stability and clear direction to our clients, Precocity Project Managers are the glue of our organization. Rarely do projects go as planned, so the ideal candidate will be comfortable solving project problems together with the delivery team and the client, to ensure project commitments are met. The Project Manager will have the unique combination of business acumen needed to interface directly with a client's key senior leaders, as well as an expert understanding to lead project management efforts. In this role, the Project Manager will need to be equally skilled in balancing the needs of the client as well as their team. The Project Manager will work side-by-side with key client stakeholders to envision, design, and deliver complex technical solutions.

  • Work with existing and prospective clients to understand their business context and craft best-in-class solutions to their toughest problems
  • Manage day-to-day project activities, including standups, client status reports, and releases, etc.
  • Take ownership of project issues and work quickly and proactively to head off potential issues
  • Know how to plan and lead client kickoff meetings both in person and remote
  • Effectively lead meetings that involve various project stakeholders and track and execute action items accordingly
  • Understand and manage the process of both building and grooming a project backlog
  • Keep projects moving forward on time, on schedule, and on budget
  • Work with other Project Managers to help continually elevate and evolve our Project Management philosophy
  • Develop content and thought leadership that can be published on our blog or website or that can be presented at relevant conferences
  • Contribute to the internal knowledge base to build expertise and awareness within the organization
  • Other duties as assigned

  • Bachelor's degree in business or a bachelor's degree in a technical field with project management experience OR
  • High school diploma and 4+ years equivalent experience
  • 4+ years' experience with software project management, data or software development focus, or equivalent technology experience
  • Background check required

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
  • Collegial and collaborative working style
  • Must be a self-starter and team player, capable of working and communicating with internal and client resources at all levels, including C-suite
  • Ability to deliver independently without constant oversight from management
  • Capable of providing direction on projects without guidance from clients. We expect you to have opinions!
  • Some client facing consulting experience preferred
  • Ability and desire to work in a consulting environment where understanding new business and technical contexts on a regular basis is the norm
  • Professional verbal and written communication skills
  • A passion for technology with a strong desire to constantly be learning and honing your craft
  • A strong understanding of project management systems (i.e. Jira, Rally, Azure, or DevOps) and working in a scrum/agile environment
  • Experience leading development teams in a scrum/agile environment
  • Detail oriented with the curiosity that compels you to dive deep into the problem, whether to identify the root cause of a quality issue or understand hidden patterns
  • Ability to handle difficult situations and lead to a mutually beneficial solution
