Job Summary:
Westat is seeking a Print and Multimedia Designer to join our dynamic, award-winning graphic design team. The Print and Multimedia Designer will work closely with the Creative Director, clients, and project staff in developing a range of multimedia and print products, including newsletters, fact sheets, brochures, infographics, web and social media graphics, videos, slides, and animated GIFs. Candidates must demonstrate strong technical skills using Adobe Creative Suite and PowerPoint and understand how to apply the client's brand standards to the products developed. This position is contingent upon the award of the contract and is based at the client site in Atlanta, Georgia.

Job Responsibilities:
• Designs and produces a broad range of print and multimedia products in collaboration with the Creative Director and Project Director.
• Works to develop a clear understanding of the visual communication requirements of each assignment and develops multiple design options and "roughs" (sketches and/or storyboards) for client review.
• Prepares layouts using photography, illustration, computer-generated imagery, and text for print and electronic publications.
• Prepares compelling multimedia products using photography, illustration, video, music, animation, and text.
• Collaborates with team members to ensure the quality control of all publications and products.
• Interacts directly with the client.
• Occasional on-call support may be needed.
• Other related duties as assigned.

Basic Qualifications:
• An Associate degree in graphic design or related field.
• 8 years of professional experience in designing and producing print and multimedia products using industry-standard tools, including Adobe Creative Suite and PowerPoint.

Preferred Qualifications:
• Experience with Adobe Premiere, Movavi, Camtasia, or other video development tools.
• Knowledge of best practices in user-centered product development and Section 508 standards.

The successful candidate must have excellent verbal communication and client relationship skills, be able to meet deadlines, and learn on the job to stay abreast of the latest developments in multimedia design, 508 requirements, and federal policies and best practices. Demonstrated experience with multimedia production, strong visual design skills, including use of typography, composition, and color, as evidenced by samples. Must provide design portfolio with application. You should be comfortable with taking initiative, able to set priorities and to work with limited supervision.
