Director, Programmatic Partnerships & Strategy

The Director, Programmatic Partnerships and Strategy will oversee programmatic strategy for both the Washington Post and Zeus, our ad rendering engine being used by other publishers. We are looking for a candidate with familiarity of the programmatic landscape and technology.

  • Develop/implement testing and optimization strategy for programmatic platforms to drive highest yield possible
  • Stay informed of changes in the programmatic landscape and adapt our strategy as needed
  • Develop and foster relationships with senior leaders at Supply Side Platforms and Demand Side Platforms
  • Work with those senior leaders to align their roadmap with the direction of Zeus and the Washington Post
  • Manage a team that will execute on growth strategies for Zeus and the Washington Post
  • Own the product roadmap for releasing new programmatic products, particularly for programmatic direct
  • Work closely with the sales leaders to train and drive growth in the programmatic direct channel
  • Review progress towards goals with internal stakeholders
  • Negotiate contracts with potential new partners and platforms that align to our monetization strategy
  • Develop and streamline processes for client launches and product rollouts with programmatic platforms
  • Work cross-functionally with a variety of teams such as sales, client services, and operations

  • 3+ years of experience managing programmatic revenue at a publisher
  • 4-7 years of experience in the digital advertising space
  • Experience driving revenue growth in programmatic direct
  • Deep experience in programmatic, particularly on the SSP and DSP side
  • Track record of building and leading successful operational teams
  • Experience developing goals and strategies to drive channel or product growth
  • History of delivering against large revenue goals
  • Firm understanding of campaign setup and trafficking within Google Ad Manager
  • Excellent time management and prioritization skills
  • Data Management Platform experience
  • Data and yield analytic skills
  • Demonstrate a strong ability to communicate effectively with both internal and external partners
  • BS or BA required
