Position Overview:
Freddie Mac is seeking a motivated, hard working Senior Middleware Administrator. In this role, you will be responsible for building, configuring, troubleshooting, performance tuning, automate daily tasks, implementing and maintaining security and vendor standard methodologies in a distributed IT environment.

**This position can be performed currently from a remote location but will require presence in a Freddie Mac office in the future.***

  • Responsible for and expected to 24x7 administering, configuring, solving problems and supporting WebLogic, SOA,OSB, Apache, Tomcat, Spring Boot, IIS, JBOSS, OpenShift, Kubernetes, Dockers in production and non-production environments running on Linux and Windows operating system.
  • Protect production by exercising sound judgment and following operational practices and procedures
  • Writing and managing scripts and utilities to automate day to day middleware administration.
  • Assist with the monitoring performance analysis of existing applications and ensuring that the system is consistent with ongoing needs.
  • Write user documentation, operational procedures, Incident and problem communications and reporting.
  • Quickly restore service during system outages, provide troubleshooting support to team to team members, perform proactive problem prevention, and call out technical details to technical lead and/or to vendor support.


Your Impact:
  • Ability to build, configure, deploy, solve issues related to Middleware in Production and Non-production environments with limited guidance.
  • Work with Platform and microservices based framework as a Service such as AWS, OpenShift, Kubernetes, middleware images (WebLogic, Tomcat, Spring Boot, JBoss).
  • Provide support to Developers in consuming Middleware services for their applications.
  • Provide resolutions to an extensive range of complicated problems; Solutions are innovative, thorough, and practicable.
  • Solve and perform problem analysis during development, testing phases and production deployment.
  • Recommend changes to procedures which result in operational optimization and automation.
  • Write and manage scripts and utilities to automate day to day systems administration and configuration management tasks using shell, python and ansible scripts.
  • Continually defines ways to increase customer satisfaction and deepen client relationships.
  • Diagnosing and resolving the toughest performance, security, and/or technical challenges related to the platforms listed above.
  • Participating in processes throughout all phases of ITIL Service Lifecycle, including submitting Change Requests and resolution of Incident tickets.
  • Investigating and resolving operational problems in conjunction with other engineering and technical personnel.
  • Coordination with Technical Services lines to ensure implementation of standard methodologies for infrastructure governance, architecture, engineering, production support and service Management.
  • Be part of the team for on-call rotation and weekend activities as required.
  • Communicates effectively with clients to identify needs and evaluate alternative technical solutions and strategies.
  • Performing regular health checks on environments.


Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related subject area or equivalent experience
  • 5+ years' experience with Oracle WebLogic, SOA, OSB, Apache as administrator, to include installation, configuration, troubleshooting.
  • 5+ years' installation, configuration and troubleshooting experience in one or more of the following technologies: Tomcat, JBoss, Appian, IIS, MQ
  • 3+ years demonstrated ability with supporting Middleware images on OpenShift Platform.
  • Solid experience in scripting using Shell, Jason/YAML, Python, Ansible.
  • 2+ years of working on AWS/Cloud Platforms
  • WebMethods, MQ experience desired.
  • Any cloud certification is a plus
