As an Engineering Director, you will manage and lead multiple teams of engineers and own the technical direction of the product. The role will focus on critical tier 1 initiatives within the organization along with laser focus on innovation and operations. You will partner with product owners, architects, and Arc clients to build a world-class, bleeding-edge set of services for Arc.

**This position can be 100% remote in the US for the right candidate**

Responsibilities
  • Direct multiple full stack teams of software engineers that design, implement, instrument, test, deploy and support their own code.
  • Own the overall planning, execution, and success of complex technical projects in an Agile process.
  • Coach team members on a daily basis, set goals and conduct performance reviews.
  • Have a deep understanding of how our products and client solutions are built and sometimes contribute technically to client solutions.
  • Have an understanding of client needs and design solutions for how to achieve them.
  • Partner with stakeholders to maintain a roadmap and project plan that meets the demands of our clients.
  • Direct teams to maintain a balanced support workload.
  • Turn the roadmap into staffing needs and a hiring strategy.
  • Implement a technical strategy that ensures future success of your products and teams.


Qualifications

A successful candidate will have:
  • BA/BS in Computer Science or related technical field or equivalent practical experience.
  • 10+ years of architecting & building products from pre-launch through maturity with a focus on SaaS or cloud based applications
  • 5+ years experience managing software engineers.
  • Experience working in a global business with employees and customers in multiple time zones.
  • Strong knowledge of DevOps and cloud infrastructure services (AWS preferred)
  • Hands-on skills in one or more object-oriented programming languages (Java/J2EE preferred)
  • Knowledge of Java, React, REST, Service Oriented Architecture, Databases, Kafka and DevOps tool chains is a plus
  • Experienced in building full-stack web-based, distributed, multi-tenant, and multi-tier applications using java and javascript with emphasis on costs, time and impact.
  • Experience managing budget or cost center
  • Exceptional written and oral communication skills
