Technician III

Summary

Chenega Defense and Aerospace Solutions, LLC has an excellent opportunity for an Engineer Technician III on our Packaging, Handling, Maintenance, Storage, and Transporation Contract supporting Missile Defense Agency. This position focuses primarily on the maintenance and repair of a wide range of wheeled vehicles.

Responsibilities

Select or adapt standard procedures or equipment, using fully applicable precedents

• Receive initial instructions, equipment requirements, and advice from supervisor or engineer as needed

• Construct components, subunits, or adapt standard equipment

• Troubleshoot and correct malfunctions

• Follow specific layout, diagrams and procedures to construct, maintain, operate, and package equipment.

• Conduct various tests or operations which may require minor modifications in setups or procedures as well as subjective judgments in measurement such as:

o Selecting, preparing, and operating standard equipment

o Maintain appropriate records of operations conducted

o Extract and compile:

▪ Variety from operating procedures

▪ Written policies and regulations

▪ Field notes

▪ Manuals

▪ Lab reports, etc.

• Process data identify errors or inconsistencies and select proper procedures to complete tasks.

• Assist process/procedural modification by compiling data related to assigned operations, specifications, and materials pertinent to assigned tasks

• Develop information concerning previous operational failures and modifications

• Use judgment and initiative to recognize inconsistencies or gaps in data and seek sources to clarify information and improve processes.

• Perform motor vehicle fleet and heavy equipment maintenance. Maintenance activities consist of:

o Basic user/operator care such as:

▪ Oil changes

▪ Tire rotation

▪ Road-worthiness inspections, etc.

o Component level anomaly analysis and repair.

• Provide semi-professional technical support, engineering and analysis working in such areas as:

o Maintenance

o Transportation support

o Inventory/warehouse support

o Test and engineering operations

• Advise staff members in order to meet established objectives.

• Perform maintenance and other logistics functions on fielded systems

• Maintain inventory, prepare order quantities, and track resupply activities

• Perform fleet planning, operation, and maintenance

• Prepare materials for shipping

• Operate test and diagnostic equipment

• Operate handling equipment

• Operate/Drive various vehicles and heavy equipment including trucks and forklifts for general material handling

• Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

• Associate's Degree required

o Each additional 1.5 years above the minimum requirement may substitute for one year of college, i.e., 13 years of experience equals an Associate's Degree.

• 10+ years of relevant experience required

• Ability to maintain a driver's license.

• Interim Secret security clearance required
