Business Development Manager

Job Summary/Company:
Calling SMART Sales Professionals in NYC, and beyond! Sparks Group is seeking an experienced Sales Professional to drive revenue growth for a financial services organization in New York City. The ideal candidate will either reside in NYC, or able to relocate to NYC. Experience with SMART data and analytics software is required. Responsibilities:

    • Focuses on new business: charged with the development of new business within your assigned region and product line (SMART data & analytics).
    • Establish & execute a pipeline strategy for achieving sales targets through the appropriate stages of the sales cycle within your assigned region/client base.
    • In cooperation with the Relationship Management colleagues, identify and target prospects, initiate new sales activity (new account acquisition and / or penetration of new buyer hubs within existing accounts) and manage cycles to closure working the trial process and closing business via contract negotiation.
    • Working closely with the Product team to ensure our value proposition is well crafted for SMART data & analytics and is well connected to our sales opportunity landscape.
    • Brings awareness of client requirements back to the business to shape go-to-market plans and existing / new product development.
    • Develops go-to-market plans for net new (target) customers and drives new product sales through ownership of targeted sales campaigns
    • Prepare and circulate market insight comments and enhance our hypothesis-based selling efforts that help to create awareness of Smart Data & Analytics expertise internally
    • Maintain contacts and meeting activity in Salesforce with accurate forecasting discipline and regular sales stage pipeline management- Spends significant time on opportunity development activities and transitioning relationship activities to core teams.


Qualifications/Background Profile:

    • 5+ years of proven new business sales experience - well able to identify, develop, & articulate proposition/ consultative selling as a "hunter"
    • Proficient with SMART data & analytics product knowledge
    • Demonstrated understanding of business drivers such as risk management/regulation and their impact on any data and analytic solution. Must have a deep understanding of the flow of data around a financial organization, who uses it and what for.
    • Strong understanding of pre trade, trading and post trade workflow
    • Self-sufficient contributor to client meetings and can effectively communicate value propositions by phone and in person. Be able to present high-level information as well as detailed demonstrations of your responsible products & services.
    • Highly motivated self-starter; able to work independently and as well as integrate into an existing strong team
    • Ability to work in a fast paced, pressurized and diverse environment.
    • Relevant tertiary level qualification
    • Spanish/Portuguese languages not essential but an added benefit
    • Willing to travel
