Sr. Avionics Engineer

Summary

The Sr. Avionics Engineer has knowledge of avionics engineering in support of avionics subsystem definition, development, integration, all verification methods to include review of ICD, sustainment, modeling/simulation, test and evaluation, and airworthiness certification across a wide range of hardware and software systems.

Responsibilities

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Support the avionics subsystem, development, integration, all verification methods to include review of ICD, sustainment, modeling/simulation, test and evaluation, and airworthiness certification across a wide range of hardware and software systems.
  • Use CNS/ATM requirements, policies, and regulations to define requirements, complete CNS/ATM compliance matrices, and support testing and certification of aircraft and supporting systems.
  • Review, develop, and update applicable program documentation for avionics engineering relevant requirements.
  • Contribute to performing analyses of avionics 45 systems and subsystems, including but not limited to;
  • System threat analysis
  • Laser systems
  • Computer systems
  • Avionics interfaces
  • Multiplex business communications
  • Identify potential issues and/or areas of improvement for USG consideration.
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications: (To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.)
  • Master's degree and 10+ years of experience OR
  • Bachelor's degree and 12+ years of experience OR
  • 15+ years of directly related experience
  • Secret Clearance required

  • Ability to work independently and yet be effective in a team setting.
  • Must be capable of managing multiple efforts with time related constraints in a fast-paced contracting environment
  • Demonstrate ability to effectively communicate and collaborate with diverse internal and external stakeholder groups and individuals.
  • Friendly presence, helpful attitude, good interpersonal skills, and ability to work well with others.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office, including excellent Word and Excel skills.
  • Ability to work in a home office setting.
  • Ability to train end users on frequently asked technical issues.
  • Ability to provide technical assistance and support over the phone with good phone skills and a professional demeanor.
  • Customer service experience strongly desired.
  • Good problem-solving skills with the ability to visualize a problem or situation and think abstractly to solve it.
