Cloud Engineer Lead

Summary

The Cloud Engineer Lead will provide platform administration, software engineer and development project management services for mission specific applications, and websites, located in St. Louis, MO.

Responsibilities

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Designs and develops Cloud architectures, solutions, and hosting services in Amazon Web Services (AWS) Cloud environments as well as integration with on premise Datacenters.
  • Assists Enterprise Management (EM) teammates in migrating services and operations to the AWS Cloud.
  • Designs and develops Cloud monitoring solutions to fully integrate with the EM suite of tools.
  • Build and maintain tools for deployment, monitoring and operations.
  • Perform regular scripting work as needed (e.g. shell scripting, Python, JavaScript, etc.).
  • Engage in operational database responsibilities, including configuration, performance tuning, troubleshooting, backups, and high availability etc.
  • Look for ways to improve and streamline processes and procedures.
  • Identify security issues and risks and develop mitigation plans.
  • Engage in supervisory responsibilities.
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications: (To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.)
  • Bachelor's degree and 8+ years relevant experience OR
  • Associate degree and 10+ years relevant experience OR
  • 12+ years relevant experience
  • Years of relevant work experience include:
  • Operational experience with ServiceNow
  • Experience in the Intelligence Community
  • DoD 8140 (formerly 8570.01-M), IAT Level III Certification required
  • TS/SCI clearance required

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
  • Experience working with automated server configuration and deployment tools, including Jenkins, Ansible, or similar tools
  • Ability to forecast and plan for infrastructure needs and find ways to improve efficiency
  • Experience with Agile development methodology, tools, and best practices
  • AWS Architect, DevOps, Developer, and/or SysOps certifications
  • Proficiency with both Windows and Linux operating systems
  • Experience with both native and non-native Cloud monitoring tools
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to clearly communicate technical concepts to a non-technical audiences
  • Knowledge of Cloud, AWS, and Services offered by AWS (EC2, S3, RDS, EMR, ECS, Lambda)
  • Ability to work independently and yet be effective within a team setting
  • Must be capable of managing multiple efforts with time related constraints in a fast-paced contracting environment
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate and collaborate with diverse internal and external stakeholder groups and individuals
  • Friendly presence, helpful attitude, good interpersonal skills, and ability to work well with others.
  • Excellent Microsoft Office skills (Word, Excel, and other applications)
  • Experience working in a home office setting
  • Ability to train end users on frequently asked technical issues
  • Ability to provide technical assistance and support over the phone
  • Good phone skills, professional demeanor, and previous customer service experience strongly desired
