Intermediate Telecommunications Engineer/Analyst

Summary: The Intermediate Telecommunications Engineer/ Analyst will design, integrate and implement telecommunications, data communications structured transport systems and related infrastructure. Develop, implement and manage support Mobile Device Management (MDM).

Duties and Responsibilities:

Design, integrate and implement telecommunications, data communications structured transport systems and related infrastructure.

Coordinate and lead external stakeholder communications with outside agencies like Defense Metropolitan Area Service Desk (DMATS), Government Services Agency (GSA), commercial voice carriers and Army elements.

Develop and implement Mobile Device Management strategies and procedures.

Analyze drawings and specifications developed by other Government Agencies and/or outside vendors.

Develop network Telecom Design Packages including detailed implementation project plans and procedures for the implementation of large-scale MACS and/or for the implementation of new systems.

Manage quality assurance testing procedures on new products as well as existing hardware.

Operate and maintain the Voice over IP (VoIP) Local Session Controller for the installation infrastructure.

Utilize programs and software such as Cisco Unified Communications Manager or other unified communication suite programs to provide Central Office switch features e.g. call forwarding, call transfer (3-way conference), ring again, last number redial, call pickup, speed calling, caller ID, and others if the phone supports. Provide common user automated attendant service.

Resolve Service Requests and User Incidents through remote administration actions (troubleshooting, repairing) that do not require touch labor.

Enhance customer reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add value to the customer.

Coordinate with outside vendors to process, track and close requests for long haul services.

Clear DHCP bad address for DREN.

Review SolarWinds email alerts.

Monitor alerts via SolarWinds, GUI, and/or Map and respond accordingly.

Monitor alerts in Aruba wireless to verify no DOWN Aps and respond accordingly.

Troubleshoot network as needed, and work issues via email for new printer rollouts, or any other requests.

Follow all NEC policies, procedures, applicable regulations, and Functional Area processes.

Maintain currency in technology and service offerings.

Other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor's Degree in a related field; 6 years of relevant experience, or a combination of experience and training, may be used in lieu of a degree. Combined total of 12 years for education and experience.

Experience in the use of advanced features of Microsoft Excel.

Army Message Handling System (AMHS)

Possess Baseline and Full Computing Environment Certifications for IAT-II IAW DoD 8570.01-M and BBP 05-PR-M-0002.

Must have Cisco certification.

Desired Certification: CCNP Collaboration

Desired Application Experience: Cisco Prime Collaboration, Cisco ACS, SolarWinds

Must have NACLC with Tier 3 investigation
