Summary: TheSuperintendent oversees and coordinates daily warehouse activities such as receiving and storing goods, managing inventory levels, ensuring the efficient delivery of goods, supervising staff, and securing the warehouse.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Accomplish warehouse human resource objectives by:
  • Selecting, orienting, training, assigning, scheduling, coaching, counseling, and disciplining employees
  • Communicating job expectations
  • Planning, monitoring, appraising job contributions
  • Recommending compensation actions
  • Adhering to policies and procedures.
  • Meet warehouse operational standards by:
  • Contributing warehouse information to strategic plans and reviews
  • Implementing production, productivity, quality, and customer-service standards
  • Resolving problems
  • Identifying warehouse system improvements.
  • Meet warehouse financial standards by:
  • Providing annual budget information
  • Monitoring expenditures
  • Identifying variances
  • Implementing corrective actions.
  • Move inventory by:
  • Scheduling materials to be moved to and from warehouse
  • Coordinating inventory transfers with related departments.
  • Deliver supplies and equipment to departments by receiving and transferring items.
  • Maintain storage area by:
  • Organizing floor space
  • Adhering to storage design principles
  • Recommending improvements.
  • Maintain inventory by:
  • Conducting monthly physical counts
  • Reconciling variances
  • Inputting data.
  • Secure warehouse by turning alarms on and testing systems.
  • Keep equipment operating by:
  • Enforcing operating instructions
  • Troubleshooting breakdowns
  • Requiring preventive maintenance
  • Calling for repairs.
  • Update job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities and reading technical publications.
  • Accomplish warehouse and organization mission by completing related results as needed.

Minimum qualifications:
  • High school diploma/GED required.
  • Degree in business, management, logistics or a related field is preferred (experience may be substituted for degree).
  • 5+years of progressive management experience as a warehouse supervisor or similar management position overseeing diverse logistics activities.
  • US Government Top Secret Security Clearance.
  • If required, be able to successfully complete a counterintelligence-based polygraph examination.
