Data Governance Manager

Job Summary/Company:

Sparks Group is seeking a Data Governance Manager who is skilled at managing people and policies so that the company can implement and institutionalize data governance across the Group in a timely manner. The candidate is experienced in leading related programs and leveraging the latest version of Collibra for "active" Data Governance. Responsibilities:

The primary goal is to build out Collibra as a Data Governance suite with a set of capabilities so that the company is set up to manage its internal data assets.
  • Provide overall leadership, management, guidance to the management team for the Collibra program
  • Manage a prioritized portfolio of enterprise data-related projects related to Collibra
  • Manage team of direct and matrixed resources in various time zones to implement the Collibra program
  • Ability to explain the Collibra interface to users in both Data Governance areas and regular business areas
  • Create internal presentations on context, content and updates to the overall program status, progress, challenges, successes, risks and issues
  • Develop project deliverables including plans, resource management, budgets, status, issues and risk logs, etc.
  • Develop deliverables as part of the internal change and approval methodology such as artifacts necessary for Architecture, Legal and other forums
  • Partner with DGO to plan, prioritize and implement solutions to data issues and governance, providing clarity on business needs and priorities
  • Liaise with other Data Governance leads to develop requirements for integration of other tools including SAP, ServiceNow and other systems
  • Develop and manage internal working groups to support the Collibra implementation
  • Seek out industry best practices and incorporate relevant ideas

Qualifications/Background Profile:
  • BS Degree in Computer Science, Business Administration, Information Management or Information Sciences
  • Minimum of 7-10 years of Data Management experience
  • Extensive experience with Data Governance capabilities like issue management resolution, metrics, data glossary, lineage, metadata management, policies, procedures and controls
  • Relevant training (Data Quality, Management, IT, Science or Governance)
  • Collibra certifications such as Collibra Certified - Ranger, Developer and Platform Admin (preferred)
