Summary:
  • The Junior UX Designer is at the heart of what we design and develop at Precocity and keeping us connected to our customers, their customers, and their ever-evolving needs and wants. The Junior UX Designer will use methodologies, tools, standards, and best practices for customer research and design. We are customer and human-centric, and this position combines the best of management and invention of research and design best practices; embedded in design and product development.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Contribute to a world-class team of experienced researchers and designers, covering a range of methods, including ethnographic field studies, concept tests, lab-based usability studies, quantitative analysis from surveys and data mining.
  • Collaborate with a team of interface and graphic designers to craft best-in-class mobile, web, AR/VR, and other technology experiences.
  • Effectively communicate research insights in ways that make them easily accessible and actionable by various stakeholders, such as through visual information design.
  • Participate in all aspects of experience design phases to include identifying target user types, discovering underlying user needs, choosing proper user research and design activities, developing design specifications and the development of interactive wireframes/prototypes.
  • Evangelize for customer experience within the appropriate lines of business.
  • Contribute to experience design engagements with clients.
  • Assist in the development of proposals and other business development related materials.
  • Contribute to the internal knowledge base to build expertise and awareness within the organization.
  • Other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications: (To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.)
  • Bachelor's degree
  • 1 years of research, analysis, and design experience, with a mix of quantitative and qualitative methodologies, design tools, and practices.
  • 1 years of experience working on consumer, enterprise or mobile products.
  • Understanding of basic web and development practices (HTML/CSS/JS etc. - no coding required).
  • Excellent writing skills preferred (e.g. writing proposals, SoWs, test scripts, etc.)

  • Collegial and collaborative working style
  • Must be a self-starter and team player, capable of working and communicating with internal and client resources at all levels--including the C-suite.
  • Ability to deliver independently without oversight from management
  • Some consulting experience preferred
  • Ability and desire to work in a consulting environment where understanding new business and technical contexts on a regular basis is the norm.
  • Contribute to an innovative and insights-driven culture at Precocity by continuing to learn and grow in knowledge of research, usability, accessibility, and design
  • Possess a personal passion for learning, HCD, and experience quality
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • A passion for technology with a strong desire to constantly be learning and honing your craft
  • Must be analytical and organized as well as have the ability to think outside the research to glean the true meaning behind human actions.
  • Be a comfortable speaking with a crowd and one-on-one

  • User Experience / Interaction Design
  • Experience with Information Architecture, Usability Testing, User Interface Design, Wireframes, Software & Web Development, Mobile Applications, Adobe Creative Suite, Sketch/Figma, Strong Interpersonal Skills, Problem Solving Skills, Client Relations Skills, User Research
