Summary:
The Engineering Technician II performs technical support engineering involving a sequence of related operations in such areas as Maintenance, Transportation Support, Inventory/Warehouse support and Test and Engineering Operations.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Following specific instructions, assembles or constructs simple or standard equipment or parts, servicing or repairing simple instruments or equipment;
Conducting a variety of tests using established methods, preparing test specimens, adjusting and operating equipment, recording test data, and pointing out deviations resulting from equipment malfunction or observational errors;
Extracting engineering data from various prescribed but non-standardized sources, processing the data following well-defined methods including elementary algebra and geometry, and presenting the data in prescribed form.

- Provides technical support engineering on one or a combination of duties:
- Functions independently to resolve problems; advises staff members in order to meet established objectives.
- Performs maintenance and other logistics functions on fielded systems.
- Maintains inventory, prepares order quantities, and tracks resupply activities.
- Performs fleet planning, operation and maintenance.
- Prepares materials for shipping.
- Conducts maintenance operations
- Operates test and diagnostic equipment
- Operates handling equipment
- Operates/Drives various vehicles.
- Other duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications : (To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.)
- Experience: 5 years of relevant experience.
- Education: High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
- Security Clearance: Must possess and maintain minimum Secret security clearance.
- Must possess a Commercial Driver's license and experience with forklift operation, aircraft loading, ordnance handling, and hazardous operations
- Valid Drivers License
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Mechanical aptitude and the ability to conscientiously follow written and verbal instruction.
- Proper use of standard hand tools and material handling equipment.
- Operation of heavy equipment including trucks and fork lifts for general material handling.
- Ability to maintain a drivers license.
- Ability to lift boxes, packages and equipment weighing up to 100 pounds using proper equipment and lifting techniques.
- Physically fit with full use of arms, legs, and back.
- Ability to maintain required training and certifications.
- Ability to use computers to search for and generate information using Microsoft.
- Travel: ability to travel 15-30% to CONUS and OCONUS locations.

- The employee will normally work in a temperature-controlled office environment, with frequent exposure to electronic office equipment.
- During visits to areas of operations, may be exposed to extreme cold or hot weather conditions. Is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, and loud noise.
