Venturi, LLC, is seeking a full timeLead Critical Facitily Technician (CFT) for facility operations and maintenance services for a U.S. Government customer at multiple buildings located at the Bannock County, Idaho site. The Government requires the support services to augment the technical and administrative staff of the site. The entire site consists of nine buildings totaling approximately 266,000 usable square feet (sf), which is comprised of general offices, data centers (DCs), visitor screening facility (VSF), a mail screening facility (MSF), and grounds of the approximate 17 acre site. The Tier III Data Center is in operation 365 days per year (366 in a leap year), 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, regardless of weather conditions or other events that would usually close local businesses or schools. The core working hours on site are 6:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. local time, Monday (M) - Friday (F) with coverage for all shifts and weekends to support the 24 x 7 x 365 requirements. All personnel are considered emergency essential as the operations of the Data Center must be maintained at all times. Work under this contract includes the performance of PdM, PM, CM, Service Requests (SR) for all buildings, systems and equipment, and grounds year round. Grounds maintenance includes, but not limited to, asphalt and concrete maintenance and repair, landscaping maintenance and repair (including sprinkling/irrigation systems), and snow removal. Grounds maintenance is of great importance to the safety and utility of all facilities in the portfolio. Critical Facility Technicians (CFT), (also referred to as "Data Center Engineers"), are Journeyman or higher level technicians with experience in mechanical, electrical, hvac, plumbing, general labor and/or maintenance in a data center environment. The Lead CFT performs non-routine and complex assignments involving responsibility for planning and conducting a complete project of relatively limited scope or a portion of a larger and more diverse project, selects and adapts plans, techniques, designs, or layouts, contacts personnel in related activities to resolve problems and coordinates the work, reviews, analysis, and integrates the technical work of others. The Lead CFT will supervise other CFTs and will outline objectives, requirements, and design approaches. The Lead CFT will review completed work for technical adequacy and satisfaction of requirements. The Lead CFT may train and/or be assisted by lower level technicians, and performs one or a combination of the following: designs, develops, and constructs major units, devices, or equipment; conducts tests or experiments; analyzes results and redesigns or modifies equipment to improve performance; and reports results. From general guidelines and specifications (e.g., size or weight requirements), the Lead CFT develops designs for equipment without critical performance requirements that are difficult to satisfy such as engine parts, research instruments, or special purpose circuitry. The Lead CFT analyzes technical data to determine applicability to design problems; selects from several possible design layouts; calculates design data; and prepares layouts, detailed specifications, parts lists, estimates, procedures, etc. The Lead CFT plans or assists in planning tests to evaluate equipment performance, determines test requirements, equipment modification, and test procedures; conducts tests using all types of instruments; analyzes and evaluates test results, and prepares reports on findings and recommendations.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Performs daily/weekly/monthly walk-throughs of the facilities in support of data center and office operations.
  • Walk-throughs (rounds) are completed every 4 hours through the entire facility.
  • Possesses a high level of technical knowledge & experience in performing maintenance, repairs and emergency service in Class A building and mission critical data center on state-of-the-art mission critical support systems.
  • Duties include performing daily inspections, preparing logs, supervising vendor/contractor activities and assisting in performing technical training for the operations team.
  • Operate & maintain equipment including but not limited to: electrical switchgear, diesel generators, HVAC/CRAC systems, Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS) systems, Power Distribution Unit (PDU)s, RPPs, Building Management System (BMS) systems, and fire detection and suppression systems.
  • Audit maintenance records to schedule and dispatch service operations staff and subcontractors.
  • Familiar in the preparation of Methods of Procedures (MOPs) and must adhere to the strict guidelines of approved MOPs for preventive, corrective, and emergency maintenance.
  • Provide technical support to customers with system emergencies.
  • Interface with Facility Management to ensure services are performed to satisfaction.
  • Updates service tickets and other maintenance related documents.
  • Assists with scheduling and managing vendors and subcontractors.
  • Assists in making preventive maintenance and emergency repairs.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • Must be available to work emergency service and shift work as required.
  • Other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications:(To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.)
  • Possess at minimum a Journeyman Level skill certification issued by State or Local jurisdiction.
  • Possess 5 years of supervisory experience.
  • Possess 10 years of field experience relative to the troubleshooting, servicing, repairs, maintaining, installation and commissioning of a wide variety of mechanical, HVAC, electrical, diesel generator, and plumbing equipment (hands on).
  • Advanced level of understanding & operational competency for mission critical electrical systems.
  • Current/valid state issued electrician license.
  • Preference for Factory Trained Certifications.
  • Working knowledge of AC/DC electrical theory and solid-state electronics.
  • Understanding of HVAC BMS, Chiller controls, and SCADA.
  • Extensive hands-on experience in repair of MCC, Switchgear, ATS, Static Switches HVAC Controls, Mechanical systems, and VFDs.
  • A high level of understanding & experience in the areas of troubleshooting and repair of electrical switchgear, diesel generators, Simplex fire detection and suppression systems.
  • Ability to perform routine and emergency service on state-of-the-art mission critical systems to include electrical switchgear, diesel generators, HVAC systems, and fire detection and suppression systems.
  • Experience with advance level operation, repair, and maintenance of HVAC systems.
  • Strong professional and technical writing skills.
  • Good computer skills to include intermediate level proficiency with Microsoft Office.
  • Ability to read and understand technical drawings and schematics.
  • Ability to install, maintain, troubleshoot, operate various mechanical & electrical systems.
  • Possesses a U.S. Government Top Secret Security clearance.

  • Access to consultation and technology integration skills to augment the Government's internal capabilities as necessary.
  • Ability to provide O&M services for building systems including mechanical and electrical systems, subsystems and support infrastructure on a 24 x 7 x 365 basis, regardless of environmental conditions. This shall include supervisory and technician staff capable of operating, maintaining, and repairing the facility systems and addressing any emergency conditions on an immediate basis.
  • Ability to perform Predictive Maintenance as a part of a routine monthly, quarterly and annual basis. This includes, but is not limited to, infrared scanning of electrical gear and connections, bearing scans, and vibration measurement of UPS units, motors and pumps, and transformer testing.
  • Ability to perform routine scheduled monitoring of all equipment conditions and operations.
  • Ability to perform annual calibration checks of all cooling system sensors directly related to electrical systems including A/C system operations, building automation system (BAS) and chiller systems.
  • Ability to perform annual system performance tests to verify the operation of all systems in redundant mode of operation.
  • Ability to bring best practice knowledge to all aspects of facility maintenance including generators, transfer switches, transformers, and UPS systems.
  • Maintain safe, functional systems and facilities that meet the operational mission.
  • Adjust to changing occupant needs and reduce energy costs by modifying/adjusting HVAC, lighting, electrical, safety, housekeeping, and Building Automation Control (BAC) systems as needed.
  • Repair, upgrade, and re-commission building systems as necessary to ensure that they are functioning properly to meet current operational needs.
  • Prevent disruptive failures in the facilities and their operating systems.
  • Develop and provide all facility management reporting, documentation and system status reports for all operations and maintenance work efforts.
  • Develop, maintain, and implement Standard Maintenance Procedures (SMP) and Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) with documents provided to the customer.
  • Ensure key personnel are available and performing all required work while maintaining PM schedules, and SR response requirements.
  • Collect operational and maintenance data (including power and water consumption) for all facilities on the Bannock County, Idaho, campus and develop life cycle forecasts for OMS sustainment needs.
  • Process all Hazardous Materials and Hazardous Waste according to local, state, and federal regulations.
