Job Description Summary
The Montgomery College, Germantown Campus, is currently accepting applications for possible openings as a part-time faculty member teaching courses in the Chemistry Program. We are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated teacher who exhibits a high degree of professionalism, a strong commitment to our students, and demonstrates the ability to motivate and educate in an engaging manner.

***Montgomery College accepts applications for Adjunct/Part-time Faculty on a continuous basis . Applications may be reviewed periodically based on the student enrollment needs. ***
  • The listing of a course in the schedule of classes as "TBA" does not constitute an assignment.
  • The hiring decision for part-time faculty involves an academic judgment and shall be determined at Management's sole discretion.

Duties include but are not limited to:
  • Faculty member will be expected to teach lectures, discussion sections and labs in any of the following: Introductory Chemistry, Chemistry for Engineers, Organic Chemistry.
  • Candidate will be required to submit midterm and final grades via an electronic information management system.
  • Candidate will be responsible for designing and grading examinations and other graded work..
  • Candidate will be responsible for enforcing and adhering to laboratory safety regulations.

Required Qualifications:
  • Master's degree in Chemistry or appropriate equivalent is required.
  • Knowledge of and commitment to the community college philosophy and mission.
  • Willingness and flexibility to teach day, evening, or weekend sections as needed.
  • Ability to integrate technology into course delivery.
  • Ability to teach in a multicultural setting.
  • Eligible applicants must currently be authorized to work in the United States and not require employer visa sponsorship.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • A PhD degree in Chemistry is preferred.
  • At least one year experience teaching at the community college level.
  • Experience teaching college-level chemistry courses.
