WE Are

 

Searching for a Software and Information Assurance Engineer to join our System Design Department within the Sonar Research and Development Division in the Undersea Systems Office at the Applied Research Laboratory (ARL) at Penn State University.

 

What YOU Will Do

 

You will work as part of a team which develops and deploys software components of Autonomous Systems. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Work with IA team to meet IA needs including: Compliance, Vulnerability Scanning and Management, Security Architecture, IA Awareness and Training, and possibly Authorization and Accreditation (AA); customize, deploy, and manage RHEL operating systems; and develop scripts for compact stand-alone systems.

 

What YOU Need to be Successful

 

Education: Bachelor's degree or higher in an Engineering or Science discipline or higher plus two years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

 

Preferred experience areas:

 

• Coding skills in C, C++, and Python

 

• RHEL

 

• Windows

 

• Linux system administrator skills

 

Required experience/skills:

 

• Solid understanding of network concepts (UDP, TCP and network devices)

 

• Ability to work as part of a small development team

 

• Travel to remote locations will occasionally be required

 

You will be subject to a government security investigation, and you must be a U.S. citizen to apply. Employment with the ARL will require successful completion of a pre-employment drug screen. This is a one-year, fixed-term renewable appointment.
