Job Summary:
Westat is seeking a full-time Statistical SAS Programmer in our Durham, North Carolina office where you will interact with epidemiologists, statisticians, and programmers. As a strong candidate, you will have applied your advanced SAS Data Step and Macro programming skills while working on large health datasets in a team setting. You should be skilled at translating concepts into algorithms for creation of analytic variables.

Job Responsibilities:
• Use SAS to perform data management tasks and support analysis.
• Work with multifaceted teams comprised of epidemiologists, statisticians, and programmers.

Basic Qualifications:
• A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Biostatistics, Epidemiology or related IT or quantitative field and at least 5 years of SAS Data Step programming with a focus on variable creation.
• Experience with linking multi-record per person data files.
• Use of SAS to support data analysis is required.
• Highly proficient with creating and using SAS macros.

Preferred Qualifications:
• A Master's degree in biostatistics or epidemiology.
• Familiar with R and/or Python.
• Experience with large, longitudinal health studies.

Candidates must possess excellent written and oral communication skills, be detail oriented and able to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
