The Washington Post is looking for a seasoned, entrepreneurial, multimedia sales leader who will develop innovative solutions that drive top-line revenue and help us shape our sales and digital/print business model for years to come. More than a skillful executive, you have deep digital experience and are a key member of the executive leadership team that oversees hundreds of millions of dollars in revenue, encompassing digital, custom, programmatic, print, and live media; you understand the value of all media platforms and how they interrelate. You can manage a complex business that sits at the forefront of sales and digital strategy and are skillful at building digital business models for the future.


Reporting to the Chief Revenue Officer and working within the executive leadership team, this crucial role has oversight of The Washington Post's global advertising business.

  • Lead a global sales team responsible for leveraging The Washington Post's suite of products to help our clients achieve their goals
  • Play a key role in developing brand positioning and offerings based on market feedback
  • Own the weekly pipeline and revenue forecast for your global territories
  • Establish initiatives that drive revenue and be accountable to meet and exceed global sales targets
  • Work with the team to evaluate the quality of solutions across digital, print and live media; innovating around areas that hold promise for helping our brand partners achieve their business objectives as well as improving revenue results for The Post
  • Acquire, develop, and retain talent throughout the sales organization to create a healthy, nimble, responsive, and results-driven culture
  • Cultivate internal relationships across multiple business units at The Post to help facilitate cross-functional collaboration

  • A minimum of seven years of relevant experience which includes sales and/or client management
  • Proven success in setting and executing against sales and operational plans and creating short and long-term strategies that align with business goals
  • Strong understanding of sales process - including identifying prospects with greatest opportunity, managing a pipeline, pre-call planning, presentation, negotiation, post-sale efforts, deepening client relationships and ongoing account management
  • Proven success collaborating and partnering with diverse groups within a company to achieve business results
  • Strong field coaching, motivational, and sales training skills
  • Thorough knowledge of digital media and a point of view on the future of advertising
  • Proven ability to manage and motivate a team
