The Washington Post's in-house branded content studio is looking for an experienced strategist to work on pre-sale proposals for clients, primarily in B2B (business-to-business) technology and finance verticals.

Reporting to the B2B content director, our ideal candidate is an idea machine with extensive experience finding great story angles and knowing how digital storytelling tools can enhance the narrative. S/he is passionate and knowledgeable about futuristic tech and innovation, including artificial intelligence, cyber-security, 5G, and digital collaboration in business.

We are looking for creative minds who can conceptualize engaging content campaigns that resonate with subject-matter experts and business decision-makers. A passion for the burgeoning native advertising/custom content space is absolutely essential.

This is a full-time position based in The Washington Post's NYC office in the Flatiron District. Candidates must submit work samples/portfolios to be considered.

Responsibilities:
  • Creating pre-sale strategy proposal decks for prospective advertising clients
  • Collaborating with directors, sellers, designers and program managers to build presentations
  • Leading brainstorm meetings to build out content ideas
  • Liaising with potential clients over the phone to address feedback
  • Being up-to-speed about native advertising/custom content trends and competitors' programs


Requirements:
  • Clear, concise and engaging writing style
  • Being a PowerPoint wiz
  • 3-5 years of proposal/strategy writing in technology and/or finance verticals, with experience at a brand studio or agency. Previous journalism experience is a plus.
  • Deep knowledge of emerging technology trends and topics
  • Enjoy in-person collaboration and able to pivot on a dime
  • Intense attention to detail and following internal processes
  • Passion for native advertising/custom content space
