SUMMARY: This is a key sales position based in Harrisburg, PA for three major shows produced by the Shows & Exhibits Division. Responsible for sales of exhibit space, print and digital advertising, sponsorship, and ongoing account management for the more than 2,000 exhibitors across all NRA shows.

  • Responsible for identifying companies in the Shooting, Hunting, Fishing, and related industries that meet the criteria to exhibit in NRA Shows.
  • Engage in a number of outbound phone calls each day to past customers and warm leads and/or conduct a minimum number of online consulting presentations.
  • Sell exhibit space and sponsorships by telephone, email communications, etc.
  • Have a relationship driven, consultative sales approach with customers or prospective customers.
  • Respond to all inbound inquiries in a quick and efficient manner.
  • Ability to work directly with exhibitors to fulfill print advertising and sponsorship needs. These include, but are not limited to directory ads, on-site banner ads, and digital advertising.
  • Develop and maintain a working knowledge of the industry and competing shows by reading articles in leading publications and websites and conducting research online.
  • Record and report weekly booth, advertising, and sponsorship sales logs.
  • Manage exhibitor and prospective exhibitor databases to maintain accurate and updated information including historical records, billing and logistical information.
  • Manage the exhibitor payment process including invoicing and collection call scheduling in an accurate and timely manner. Follow-up on collections when necessary.
  • Respond to exhibitor inquiries regarding display regulations, show service forms, exhibitor rules and regulations and other questions to assist in exhibitor's show planning in a timely manner.
  • Assist, as directed, with the oversight of on-site operations at NRA produced events.

SCOPE: High profile with responsibility for smooth and successful implementation of NRA produced events. High visibility with divisional staff; contractors; vendors; convention center personnel; NRA members and the general public. Position functions in a fast paced, deadline oriented work environment with varied priorities and responsibilities and with minimal direct supervision. Position requires the ability to lift and carry 40 lbs. of materials.

Overnight travel as needed for the production of NRA Shows and Events. Some weekend work and after-hour work, Monday through Friday, required as dictated by event schedule.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Bachelor's Degree in Marketing, Management, Communications or related field desired. An understanding of, and more than 2 years experience with events and/or event coordination preferred.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES: A motivated self-starter with strong organizational skills is essential. Attention to detail with the ability and creativity to quickly adapt and think on your feet is essential. Strong oral and written communication skills are required. Demonstrated ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously within set deadlines is essential. Strong computer skills and proficiency in MS Office Suite required. Proven ability to work independently or as a member of a team essential. Candidate must have knowledge of and support for the mission of the National Rifle Association.
