VDI Engineer - 1666

The MIL Corporations seeks a Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI) Engineer to support a Federal Government client near Augusta, GA at our Fort Gordon location. This position will provide VDI design, engineering, and implementation support to the Cyber Center of Excellence (CCoE).
• Support the design, engineering, and implementation of Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI) servicing an entire campus
• Evaluate existing campus network infrastructure; make recommendations on how network infrastructure should be upgraded to support VDI and maintain quality of service
• Translate general requirements such numbers/locations of users, resource allocations (compute, memory, storage), data retention, etc. into technical solutions; craft solutions that meet customer requirements with a vendor-neutral approach
• Advocate for VDI requirements; ensure other engineering disciplines such as networks, systems, and passive infrastructure account for the unique challenges presented by large-scale VDI deployments
• Provide systems integration support to on-site PM
• Identify opportunities for improvement and make constructive suggestions for change
• Communicate effectively with clients to identify needs and evaluate solutions
• Prepare and present verbal and written reports highlighting plans, issues, and solutions
Required Qualifications
• Experience working in an enterprise-level environment; must be able to architect/design VDI systems that supports thousands of users
• Comfortable working in a vendor-neutral environment
• Experience with Multiple Independent Levels of Security (MILS) is a plus
• Experience with the Department of Defense Information Network (DoDIN) is a plus
• 5+ years of experience designing/engineering/implementing enterprise-level IT solutions
• BA/BS degree (or higher) in a relevant field
• DoD 8570 baseline certification (Security+ or higher)
• Experience working in Federal Government, Department of Defense (DoD) components, or the defense industrial complex in IT-related fields is a plus
• Excellent verbal, written communication, and organizational skills
• Ability to interface professionally with individuals at all levels and communicate effectively with project staff and other team members
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and SharePoint
