An Appian Proposal Knowledge Specialist supports the worldwide proposal team in the coordination, development, and maintenance of proposal-response content, as well as administration and governance of the proposal automation system/tool.

As a successful Appian Proposal Knowledge Specialist, you will:
  • Manage the development, production, and maintenance of proposal-response content, including establishing regular content refresher activities with internal organizations to ensure content accuracy.
  • Act as a liaison between the Proposal Team, Sales, Marketing, and other relevant departments to own the tool and its content repository, ensuring that content accurately reflects sales and marketing messaging and strategies.
  • Design, create, and develop procedures for the administration and governance of the proposal automation tool.
  • Act as a consultant to proposal tool users to understand future needs for the proposal system/tool and proposal content and build strategic relationships with internal teams to promote system/tool adoption.
  • Report to key stakeholders regarding the success of the tool, identify and monitor trends and potential areas for additional use cases for future stakeholders of the system/tool.
  • Participate in and lead proposal team strategy and continuing education initiatives.
  • Spearhead additional content or strategic projects, as needed.


To be successful in this role, you need:
  • Self-motivated with the ability to balance priorities, meet deadlines, and collaborate across multiple departments within the organization with minimal supervision.
  • Exceptional writing, editing, document formatting, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience with content development/writing and management required.
  • High level of proficiency with the Microsoft Office Suite required.
  • Proficiency with Google Suite preferred.
  • Experience or proficiency with content management systems and/or proposal automation tool preferred.
  • Additional language capabilities are ideal but not required.

Basic Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree (writing intensive fields preferred).
  • 3+ years of proposal-management, proposal-related experience, or similar; highly organized, with the ability to multi-task effectively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
  • This role is open to East Coast candidates only.
