Program Controller I


The Venturi Program Controller I will compile financial information and analyze cost estimating and financial data processes from both a government and corporate perspective. The Program Controller I shall be fully versed in government budgetary processes and requirements, obligation/expenditure tracking, and the DoD planning/programming budget system.

  • Analyze cost records and ensure cost data is allocated correctly.
  • Prepare and provide financial data support for proposals, budget, and financial processes.
  • Track, reconcile, and report project-based costs, including obligations, expenditures, and contract funding levels, labor, material, travel costs (travel vouchers), and other direct costs.
  • Review invoices and generate related support documentation.
  • Present prepared monthly project reports by assembling and displaying numerical and descriptive information.
  • Resolve discrepancies and prepare special reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends.
  • Compile financial information and analyze cost estimating and financial data processes from both a federal government and company perspective.
  • Coordinate with Venturi Finance & Accounting in analyzing financial information.
  • Examine and review cost records and ensure cost data is allocated correctly.
  • Code payable vouchers in ORAA to ensure the costs are being allocated to the correct Costpoint projects and accounts.
  • Establish close working relationships with Venturi Program Managers and respective customers and subcontractors on a program by program basis.
  • Provide Program Managers with guidance on ensuring project/program financial accuracy.
  • Prepare Monthly Cost Report deliverables for Venturi Program Managers.
  • Compute and prepare contract close-out information.

  • BS/BA in Finance or related field is required
  • 1+ years of experience working within both federal government accounting and corporate systems
  • Deltek and Costpoint experience desired
  • Background check required

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
  • Proficient knowledge of Costpoint, Deltek, and Cognos.
  • Advanced knowledge of computer software applications in word processing, spreadsheets, database, presentation software (MSWord, Excel, Access, PowerPoint), and Outlook.
  • Strong financial background, organizational, and analytical skills to interpret and prepare financial reports and documents.
  • Must be able to handle confidential information with discretion.
  • Ability to be versatile and work independently while achieving results.
  • Ability to obtain a secret clearance.
  • Attention to detail required.
  • Must have the ability to travel as required.
  • Ability to work nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Required to adhere to Chenega Corporation mandate that all employees must be fully vaccinated to COVID-19 by December 8, 2021.
