Technical Writer II - Journeyman

Summary

The Technical Writer II - Journeyman shall write technical materials, like equipment manuals, appendices, or operating and maintenance instructions.

Responsibilities
  • Analyze new and existing program requirements and engineering changes.
  • Estimate support requirements.
  • Coordinate, integrate, and implement acquisition, quality assurance, distribution, and change control tasks.
  • Integrate multi-format technical data.
  • Conduct technical editing of assigned documents and other products to ensure adherence to quality and formatting standards.
  • Provide Support List to draft, review, and submit technical reports, project status reports, briefing materials, memoranda, correspondence.
  • Develop and edit traditional paper publications and emerging levels of electronic technical writing.
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED
  • BA or BS degree in a logistics, business, management, or technical field is preferred
  • 3+ years of experience with developing and editing Military Technical Documentation
  • Secret clearance required

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
  • Must have the ability to attend all customer in-person meetings and conferences within two (2) hours, as requested.
  • Ability to travel locally up to 50%.
  • Ability to coordinate and integrate the work activities of several different projects.
  • Ability to communicate with others effectively both orally and in writing.
  • Possess strong written communication to include editorial skills.
  • Ability to work out solutions to problems or questions relating to the Technical Data products.
  • Ability to multi-task in a high-performance based environment.
  • Possess strong problem-solving skills.
  • Required to adhere to Chenega Corporation mandate that all employees must be fully vaccinated to COVID-19 by December 8, 2021.
