DevOps and Integration Engineer

Summary

The DevOps and Integration Engineer is responsible for design, implementation, and configuration management of an interactive virtual training tool for system and network administrators to accomplish Mission Qualification Training.

Responsibilities
  • Design and implement build, testing, deployment, and configuration management.
  • Build and test automation tools for infrastructure provisioning.
  • Handle code deployments in all environments.
  • Monitor metrics and develop ways to improve.
  • Provide technical guidance and educate team members and coworkers on development and operations.
  • Brainstorm for new ideas and ways to improve development delivery.
  • Consult with peers for feedback during testing stages.
  • Maintain day-to-day management and administration of projects.
  • Manage CI and CD tools with team.
  • Document and design various processes and update existing processes.
  • Improve infrastructure development and application development.
  • Facilitate daily scrum, sprint planning, sprint demos, and retrospectives.
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Software Engineering or related field
  • Equivalent combination of education and experience can be used in lieu of degree
  • 5+ years of experience in developing, implementing, and maintaining software applications
  • Experience with DI2E software collaboration tools to include but not limited to: JIRA, Confluence, Subversion, Git, and code scanning tools like Fortify
  • Experience in Continuous Delivery and Continuous Integration techniques
  • Experience in basic fundamentals of iterative and incremental delivery
  • Secret security clearance required

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
  • Baseline IAT-II certification IAW DoD 8570.01-M requirements preferred.
  • Leadership and self-direction skills are highly desired.
  • Ability to solve complex problems utilizing creative thinking skills.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Ability to critically analyze and understand the systems and communicate system requirements to the customer and leadership.
  • Knowledge of agile methodology and frameworks, like Scrum and Kanban.
  • Strong knowledge of Scrum theory, rules, and practices.
  • Strong knowledge about Agile techniques, like user stories, continuous integration, ATDD, TDD, continuous testing, pairing, automated testing, and agile games.
  • Knowledge about the value of metrics and incremental delivery.
  • Knowledge about tasks, backlog tracking, burndown metrics, and velocity, etc.
  • Ability to take and understand the commitment to deliver the product on time.
  • Ability to obtain IAT-II certification IAW DoD 8570.01-M requirements.
  • Ability to travel CONUS and OCONUS as required.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain OCONUS travel documentation.
  • Ability to work nights, weekend, and holidays as required.
  • Ability to maintain and keep a secret security clearance.
  • Ability to maintain and obtain USAF CAC.
  • Required to adhere to Chenega Corporation mandate that all employees must be fully vaccinated to COVID-19 by December 8, 2021.
