DCS Corporation is looking for an emerging subject matter expert with power, analog and digital circuit design knowledge to develop smart fabric networks for wearable technology.

A background in a technology research setting is highly desired that includes circuit development from initial concept to design, development, construction and testing including documentation, debugging, and integration.

The ideal candidate is a self-driven innovative individual that thrives in small teams and performance based work environments. Knowledge of communications hardware,and protocol, firmware coding and power systems and interconnects is required.

Location is the MetroWest Boston area (I-495/Rte-2).

Essential Job Functions:

The Research Electrical Engineer will be responsible for designing both analog and digital circuit solutions for wearable electronics technology and mobile communication applications supporting key accounts across the USG, as well as developing and designing new technology applications in line with DCS Systems Engineering Department. Some of the specific anticipated responsibilities include the following:

• Design printed circuits and/or flexible printed circuits and textile-embedded circuits
• Interpret customer schematics and transition to printed circuit design
• Implement power transfer principles in a laboratory setting
• Build component libraries specific to customer needs
• Perform DFM (design for manufacturing) and coordinate DFM and stack up with upstream and downstream supply chain
• Brainstorm approaches for addressing complex analog and digital circuit problems from a need statement
• Capable of hands-on circuit design, fabrication and testing
• Quote, schedule and partition a major design project with appropriate staffing
• Participate in conceptual and architectural definition of new designs; capable of executing state-of-the-art designs
• Publish and distribute final design package for board and/or circuit fabrication
• Generate reports corresponding to circuit analysis and testing
• Develop testing protocols
• Characterize electrical properties of materials
• Identify and communicate existing and potential design issues both internally and externally
Requirements Due to the sensitivity of customer related requirements, U.S. Citizenship is required.

Bachelor's electrical engineering paired with 5-6 years of relevant experience. degree (or related discipline). MS with 3-4 years related experience. A minimum of 3-4 years related R&D experience.

Must have an active DoD Secret clearance.

CompTIA Security Plus Certified.

Proficiency in analog and digital circuit design for complex products.

Strong understanding of design principles and practice in the printed circuits, along with the technical skills to execute on them in a development setting.

Proficiency in schematic capture, PBC layout, parts library management.

Ability to dynamically interact with technical sponsors and end-users, and effectively communicate approaches, results, and recommendations to them.

Firmware coding experience.

-Familiarity with Labview, Python, Altium, CREO, Solidworks software packages
