Position Summary:

The Grid Integration Manager role is responsible for managing engineering firms for timely submission of engineering service requests, creation of land easements, creation and submission of beyond-the-meter designs to the authority-having-jurisdiction (AHJ) for permitting primarily in the east coast of the United States.  The Grid Integration Manager will also engage the Utility and AHJ for managing barriers throughout the design process. The ideal candidate thrives in fast-paced start-up environments, with exceptional attention to detail. 

  • Track the development pipeline of projects with Development Engineering and ensure the right projects are being assessed by the utilities
  • Oversee the pipeline of hundreds of projects with the utilities across the US, ensure the teams are focused on the right priorities for pushing projects forward.
  • Meet with utilities and coordinate interconnection engineering activities which include high-level engineering studies for site validity, and easement procurement,
  • Manage engineering contractors on timeliness submission of engineering service requests, creation of land easements, to-the-meter designs, beyond-the meter designs submitted and execution of permitted drawing set to the authority having jurisdiction,
  • Communicate effectively with internal stakeholders on current easement and utility design status and timelines for completion,
  • Manage implementation & integration of CRM software updates with engineering contractors,
  • Ability to review, interpret and implement local and utility standards to ensure electrical and civil designs are compliant,
  • Establish and manage the ongoing rapport with Utilities, either with direct communication or through other interactions as appropriate to ensure projects are progressing as desired,
  • Partner internally with various stakeholders to establish streamlined support processes,
  • Sift through large amounts of data and make meaningful presentations on execution strategies.
  • Strategize on the organization and key hires to grow the utility integration function in EVgo.
  • Identify opportunities for EVgo to take on more utility scope which leads to more aggressive schedules.

Required Skills and Experience:  
  • BS in Electrical Engineering Degree or requisite EV utility experience.
  • 5-7 years minimum experience in a utility company or working on projects with a high degree of utility involvement.
  • PMP (Project Management Certification) preferred.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Highly motivated self-starter, friendly personality, and good team player.
  • 480V interconnection utility experience (distributed generation, EV charging, microgrids).
  • Accustomed to working with a high volume of data for tracking hundreds of projects.
  • Be a data-driven decision-maker.
  • Solid knowledge of Salesforce or enterprise CRM systems.
