Junior C++ and Linux Software Developer

Summary

The Junior C++ and Linux Software Developer will research, design, develop, or test software and software related systems for military or scientific use employing knowledge of software design methods.

Responsibilities
  • Develop, test, and deliver specific software functionality in support of government requirements.
  • Coordinate with Service Program offices to ensure developed software meets their requirements.
  • Contribute to testing activities, including writing test plans, executing tests, regression testing, performance testing, and integration testing, etc.
  • Contribute to improving the overall quality of our software development processes and practices.
  • Provide estimation of product development efforts.
  • Resolve technical issues through debugging, research, and investigation.
  • Follow published policies and regulations.
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications
  • Relevant BS/BA and 0+ years of relevant experience OR
  • AA/AS and 4+ years relevant experience may be substituted for a BA/BS
  • 4 years relevant experience may be substituted for formal education
  • Background check required.
  • Can begin work without a clearance but must be able to obtain an interim secret security clearance and subsequently obtain/maintain a full secret clearance to continue employment

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
  • Knowledge of writing and executing software test cases.
  • Knowledge of scripting languages.
  • Knowledge of test automation.
  • Knowledge of automated unit testing frameworks.
  • Knowledge working with databases using SQL queries.
  • Development knowledge with .Net and Visual Studio IDE.
  • Java, C+, C++, C# programming knowledge.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills are a must.
  • Familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within the software development industry.
  • Ability to work with large and complex data sets.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft SQL Server and Team Foundation Server.
  • Travel: ability to travel 15-30% to CONUS and OCONUS locations.
  • Ability to work nights, weekends, and holidays.
