Patient Service Specialist, FT Days

Adventist Healthcare seeks to hire an experienced Patient Service Specialist who will embrace our mission to extend God's care through the ministry of physical, mental and spiritual healing.

This employee is responsible for providing high quality customer service to all visitors arriving at Adventist Healthcare Imaging.

Duties include (but not limited to):
• Efficiently manages patient flow, including patient registration, coordinating with clinical staff, and answering patient questions.
• Welcoming patients and visitors, assisting them with paperwork, and answering questions about insurance, copays, appointments and medical services.
• Register patients accurately with demographics and insurance information.
• Scan patient information documents i.e, Registration form, Meaningful Use form, referring physician order, blood work and waivers.
• Identify, reference, and apply insurance coverage and billing.
• Answer phones using proper telephone etiquette.
• Present financial policies and arrangements accurately to patients.
• Collect co-payments and verify insurance coverage.
• Manage cash, checks and credit card payments.
• Answer patient questions and inquiries via telephone.
• Schedule patients accurately when in the office or over the phone.
• Check out patients accurately by checking all information entered during check in is correct and ready to be sent to insurance.
• Work as a team to complete projects and ensure positive patient experience.

Manage Financial Performance
Drive operational improvements to achieve budget targets
• Help the practice achieve the net operating margin by striving to ensure correct patient insurance information is entered into RIS 100% of the time
• Ensure the front desk operates in an efficient manner that reduces office expense by 5%
• When applicable, ensure that 100% of copays, deductibles, and previous balances are collected before the patient is seen
• Maintain patient appointment times as scheduled with minimum preventable delays Patient Experience
• Ensure patients have a consistent front desk office experience throughout the practice and
provide patients with a neat and clean environment
• Set the initial tone for the patients experience by greeting 100% of patients in a consistent,
professional, and approachable manner
• Always communicate in an appropriate and constructive manner with co-workers, management
and patients
• Maintain a zero HIPAA violation standard
• Ensure every interaction with a referring provider reflects the best that our practice has to offer
• Verify the referring provider name and address is correct 100% of the time for each patient to confirm the reports are sent to the right doctor and office

Qualifications include:
• High School Diploma or GED required
•1-2 years medical office experience
• Experience working with Microsoft Excel and Word
• Good at multitasking
