Summary:

TheHR Generalist is responsible for performing a variety of human resource functions to support company objectives. TheHR Generalist will provide accurate, efficient, and effective customer service to a Joint Venture supporting a contract with the National Benefits Center (NBC) Records Operations Contract (ROC) which is a component of the Department of Homeland Security, U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) which administers lawful immigration to the United States and the U.S. Naturalization process.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Manage the New Employee on-boarding
  • Monitor the on-boarding process to ensure tasks are completed in a timely manner
  • Be attentive and provide quick feedback, updates, and responses to new hires
  • Complete I9 and E-Verify forms in a timely and accurate manner
  • Assist with benefit enrollments for new hires and existing employees
  • Establish and maintain an effective and credible relationship with both management and employees
  • Work closely with management to provide support, planning, and problem solving
  • Foster open communication with business partners and employees
  • Maintain knowledge of Chenega and Joint Venture (JV) policies and procedures
  • Participate in annual Quality Management audits
  • Provide counsel to managers and employees on human resources issues, organization structure, and HR policies and procedures for all company personnel
  • Manage the performance evaluation program and ensure performance evaluations are completed timely based on policies and timelines
  • Ensure up-to-date accuracy of employee information within the JV systems and provide information and/or reports as requested to Operation Managers and/or Program Manager
  • Comply with employee file maintenance in accordance with record keeping requirements, both internal as well as regulatory
  • Ensure regulatory compliance in HR initiatives
  • Assist in the conduct of exit interviews
  • Assist with the employee termination process on the employees last day of employment
  • Attend and participate in meetings and seminars as required
  • Other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications:(To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.)
  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Associate degree from accredited college preferred
  • 3+ years' relevant experience can be used in lieu of the degree requirement
  • Deltek and Costpoint experience highly desirable
  • Background check required

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
  • Able to obtain secret clearance if required
  • Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills
  • Must have the ability to make recommendations to effectively resolve problems or issues by using judgment that is consistent with standards, practices, policies, procedures, regulation, or government law
  • Must have excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Able to handle multiple assignments concurrently and balance priorities to meet deadlines
  • Ability to support multiple companies under the JV
  • Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality

Travel between multiple local work sites may be required
