Job Summary:
Westat is seeking an education specialist who will support and promote training and technical assistance for several large- and small-scale education projects. The ideal candidate will have experience and knowledge with program development, extended learning, dropout prevention, and andragogy.

Job Responsibilities:
• Present information, using a variety of instructional techniques and formats such as role playing, simulations, team exercises, group discussions, online courses, videos, and lectures.
• Organize and develop, or obtain, training materials and guides along with potential course materials such as handouts, visual materials, and online content.
• Evaluate training materials prepared by instructors, such as outlines, text, and handouts.
• Ability to transfer Subject Matter Expertise into actionable trainings.
• Conducts site visits as assigned to perform an assessment of the quality of the program and its implementation according to the approved grant application and guidelines.
• Prepares reports based on data review and site visits that include an assessment of progress towards goals established in the grant application.
• Develops and frequently updates an annual support plan for assigned area of expertise and schedules trainings and quality assurance visits as needed by the grantees and TEA.
• Maintains accurate and detailed documentation on all grantee interactions in a tracking and reporting system maintained by Westat to provide reporting to TEA.
• Analyze grantee data from the TX21st student tracking system (a technology-based federal and state data collection tool) to review the completeness, accuracy, quality, and integrity of data reported.
• Conference support using conference apps and on-line tools.
• 50% potential travel, including overnight and out-of-state travel.

Basic Qualifications:
• A bachelor's degree in education, training, or related fields.
• At least 5 years' experience with extended learning, dropout prevention or at-risk youth programs.

Preferred Qualifications:
• Direct experience with 21st CCLC.
• 2-3 years' experience coaching and/or working with education leaders.
• Experience with program development, monitoring, evaluation and improvement.
• Experience with data collection, reporting and analysis of program outcomes.

Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills are essential. Candidates must be organized, detail-oriented, ability to take initiative, be a multi-tasker and able to work independently and in a team environment.
